Follow that Dream follows the Kwimper family, a sort of ragamuffin clan, to where they run out of gas and then decide to squat and homestead on a small stretch of Florida highway. There they run into trouble with the state, a social worker who has eyes for a very hunky, but dense Toby Kwimper (Elvis Presley), and the Mob who has decided the area is prime location for their illegal casino on wheels. The most memorable scenes are when Toby takes on the duties as local sheriff and interacts with the mob. The night time shooting scene is a riot! Also enjoyable is watching the character of Pa Kwimper and his excitement over installing indoor plumbing on the beach and in particular a toilet. regarding his new toilet Pa Kwimper at one point exclaims, “Isn’t it a lover.” (while caressing the seat of it). I guess if I camped out for any length of time I would be singing the praises of indoor plumbing myself. Follow that Dream is Elvis’ absolute best movie followed by perhaps King Creole, and Jailhouse Rock.

I might have to check this movie out from my local library. Thanks for the recommendation!
