I am assuming you saw yesterday’s Wordless Wednesday in which I posted a couple of pictures of a package of unopened girl’s C-3PO Underoos. Since it’s Wordless Wednesday (and I follow the rules unlike some people I know) I’ll give you the story behind the Underoos today.
I bought these on eBay for my daughter. I have five kids- four of which are boys, so you can imagine we kind of spoil the girl a little… (basically she’s a monster). Anyway- I happened to be on eBay last week and I have no idea how I found Star Wars Underoos, I certainly did not search for them. However, finding myself there I found a seller who was running a dutch auction for girls C-3PO Vintage Underoos. This seller was selling packages of vintage 1970′s unopened Underoos for $10 each with free shipping. Normally I am not a spendthrift and can decline such offers, after all character underwear can be had for a mere five dollars for 3 pairs at Wal-Mart. However, I looked at other sellers offerings of vintage Underoos – particularly Star Wars and I was astounded at the deal.
There was one seller who was selling an AFA Graded pair of Boba Fett Underoos for $399 and they have since sold! Of course I had to snap up a pair for my little girl at $10 who could blame me and after all she is potty training soon.
Needless to say I received my package Tuesday and couldn’t wait to show my Underoos to the world- thus the Wordless Wednesday post. However, now that I have them, I can’t break the seal. I mean these just seem too good to let a two year old skid them (you know what I mean if you have kids). Really- at these prices one could skip investing in scrap gold as most eBayers do. Why not invest in vintage Underoos? A parent could fund a whole college education on Boba Fetts and Daisy Dukes!

Rules are for the breaking!
I think I’m going to start selling advertising spots on my blog. I was going to wait until I had more traffic, but I think I might have a person interested.
After all, I get a fair amount of search engine traffic for people looking for creepy underwear guys and underwear kids. Or is it kids’ underwear. Hopefully the latter. Yeah, the latter is what I’ll say on the advertising specs page.
I’m not sure what the rules are for Wordless Wednesday. But I like particitpating on other’s blogs. I need to start doing my own.
@ Deb- the rule is just to post a picture and not write about it- kind of like a picture is worth a 1,000 words. But a certain blogger- oh shall we say DAN OF DCRBLOGS calls his entries Wordy Wednesday (’cause he just can’t let the pics speak for themselves). ;0P
I find it quite fun and really there are no rules, except one really shouldn’t put their link into Mr. Linky unless they are actually participating. I believe Wordless Weds is so popular there is one for every day of the week now. I look forward to visiting other blogs on that day.
I had underoos when I was a kid. I think they were Spiderman, but I’m not sure.
My husband would say do not open them, but me I would let her have them. Of course, I had Wonder Woman underoos as a kid.
tough decision to make, investment item or novelty for the little one…and we spoil. our only girl too.
Hey Sassy- thanks for dropping by. I really don’t see it as an investment item. I never truly think of any collectible in that term. However- I sell prolifically on eBay and I just don’t know that I want to clean poop out of something I could have got even $100 for… hee hee. I was at Wal-Mart last night & there are plenty of decent Barbie drawers there and I don’t think my daughter would even appreciate C-3PO panties from the Seventies. I am not even sure I want to sell them. :0)
I am currently wearing my Darth Vader Underoos…hahaha!
My site is FIXED!!!!! Thanks for offering to help, but I finally got it done
