The Seven Words You Can’t Say in Heaven… Goodbye George Carlin.

Oh I am so sad to find out that George Carlin died- he was so young too at 71 years old. I tend to not like coarse humor and cursing for the sake of shock, but I have to say that George Carlin appealed to me probably because my Dad loved him.

A couple weeks ago (really) my oldest son, commented that Mr. Conductor of the Shining Time videos had a pony tail, looked rough and seemed kind of edgy for Thomas the Tank Engine.

I replied, “Oh that’s George Carlin, he’s a comedian that was a really big deal for the “Seven Words You Can Never Say On TV.”

My fifteen year old thought that was cool… luckily he had enough sense to not ask me what they were. Of course now you can say anything on television, so it doesn’t matter at least not the dirty words.

What matters is that George Carlin was the first to come up with the seven words- which he got arrested for saying at a show in Milwaukee in 1972 (I was born in 1972- George Carlin’s getting arrested- what a great year). The picture above is George Carlin’s mug shot.

I suspect George Carlin and my Dad are in heaven right now, trying to figure out what the “seven words are you can’t say in heaven…”
