Original By Robert is a mark that was used The Fashioncraft Jewelry Company, which was founded by Robert Levy, David Jaffe, And Irving Landsman. When some of the principals left in the early 1960’s the company name was changed to Robert Originals Inc.
Below is a typical piece from the 1960’s which features an enameled apple and worm brooch. Other Original By Robert pieces are mistaken for Haskell and typically his pieces were high-end even at the time of manufacturing. {Information obtained from The Vintage Jewelry Guide}
Isn’t this brooch juicy enough to eat… at least the worm thinks so?

The worm is actually cute. Is it 3-D or painted flat? It looks 3-D – which makes it really neat.
Hi Teeni- It’s 3- D and super cute!
Eeeeeewwww, worms. It’s cool though because it seems to be really small.
Thanks for pointing out the lack of social buttons on my site – I got that all fixed now.
I have a Original by Robert pin. It is a black flower with a pearl in the middle with long green leaf/vine behind it. What is this worth. Any ideas of were i can get information on this piece.
Thank you for your time and troubles
Maggie- sorry for the delay in answering you… it has been tough for me the last month (my husband had foot surgery). My best suggestion would be to look it up on eBay and then you have a ballpark figure of what similar Original by Robert brooches are selling on eBay. You could also try to just Google the details of your brooch and see if you can find the similar brooch for sale in an online shop. I would keep in mind that prices for the same brooch could really fluctuate. eBay tends to be near the low end and the bargain price of vintage jewelry and anywhere else could have the same item priced for much more. However, if something is not selling – the price is too much- in my opinion. I tend to discount book value and believe that the value of something is dictated by the market and what someone is willing to pay you for the item. Thanks for your question, Michelle
