The Real A-Team
I recently heard that a new A-Team movie is coming out in June. June 11th to be exact, but you won’t see me there at opening day or even at the theater at all. In fact- I doubt I will see it when it comes out on DVD at the Redbox for a dollar.
I loved the television show (possibly because I was eleven when it came out) and I really like the actor Liam Neeson, who will be playing Colonel John “Hannibal” Smith, but even those two reasons aren’t enough to compel me to see the new movie.
I hate remakes and the A-Team movie will probably be no exception. The A-Team will always be George Peppard as Hannibal, Dwight Schultz as Captain H. M. “Howling Mad” Murdock, Dirk Benedict as Lieutenant Templeton “Faceman” Peck, and of course Mr. T as B.A. Baracas- oh and there was a chick or two… possibly more?
So while you are wasting $20 bucks or more at the movies just for tickets, I will be engaged in my new The A-Team Action Activity Book. Won’t you do a few pages with me- it will be just like the New York Times Crossword Puzzle only more entertaining and more likely to be completed by me and you. I have included a page for each character.

So where is George Peppard now- you might be asking? Unfortunately- this original cast member is no longer with us as he succumbed to lung cancer in 1994 at the age of 65.

Dwight Schultz went on from the A-Team to have a reoccurring role in Star Trek the Next Generation where his character Reginald Barclay was often called “Broccoli” by the other members of the crew as a form of disparagement.

Mr. T of course is still kicking butt at the age of 58, he generally plays himself in all his roles whether acting or wrestling. He recently played Earl Devereaux in the full length animated movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (which was wonderful and Mr. T stole the show I might add).

Last but certainly not least, is Dirk Benedict who prior to The A-Team was a household name on Battlestar Galatica as Lieutenant Starbuck. He makes a cameo in the new A-Team movie which he regrets already.

Okay, I did them all.
But, you know, if you want everyone to get to the van quickly, maybe you ought not send the message in code.
Thanks for the link! Oh, this was fun. I never even watched the A-Team but I like doing these little puzzles.

Get to the Van Quickly
Hmmm – I never watched so I don’t know what he is scared of but I’ll guess spiders.
Charm!!!
Okay, how did I do?
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Dan – I didn’t send in code- Hannibal did. Now get in the van and be quiet!
Teeni- B.A was afraid of flying. He had to be drugged to get put on the plane. B.A. would say he isn’t flying and then they would stick him with a needle or put a rag over his face and fwoomp he would be out cold. Then they could fly to whatever crazy job they needed to be at. Thanks for playing along.
I thought Murdock sent the code. Oh, this is a problem. We were supposed to get to the van quickly, but the message was sent in code and we don’t know who sent the code, so I have a bad feeling about this.
You’re right Murdock sent the code… and yet he is crazy so I am not to sure about this. Are you getting in the van with a crazy man? Of course- they used to drug members of their own team, so maybe we don’t have a choice. I saw we get in the van to avoid being drugged.
I am boycotting the movie the A-Team and the remake of the Karate Kid that’s coming out too. I swear Hollywood IS OUT OF IDEAS!
What the karate Kid??? Why remake movies. At least The A-Team is a little different taking television shows and making them into movies. SHeessh- that’s lame. The first Karate Kid was perfectly fine the way it was. I won’t be seeing that one either.
Wax on Wax off!! have a great day Meleah
I loved the A-Team, as well. And I was going to say something about the new Karate Kid movie, too. I mean, I like Jackie Chan as much as the next guy, but I cringe every time I see previews for the new version. Ugh. The Karate Kid was an 80′s classic. One of the defining movies of my childhood. I will NOT be seeing the new one.
JACKIE CHAN!!! What!!! Sighhhh……
I like Jackie Chan- he is likable fellow, but really a new Karate Kid is not necessary or wanted. On a side note, I wonder what old Ralph Macchio looks like, last I saw him he still looked like a kid. This is just a sign that we are supposed to be old and have the money and power, this is Hollywood’s way of pandering to us. The only way to tell if it works is the box office- I hope these movies flop and that will put an end to the remaking of the 80s.
