Movies for those Suffering with Short Attention Spans

April 29th, 2008 · 4 Comments

I read somewhere that people now have much shorter attention spans then previous generations. I would give you the website link for a citation- but I already forgot it.

Anyway- I don’t even have time to watch a full length movie anymore. Often when I do sit down to watch something; I can’t seem to just watch a movie anyway. I find that I have to lift weights at the same time, pedal on my exercise bike, do cross stitch, or even package items I am shipping on eBay. When I was a kid- I could camp out in front of the television and watch Saturday morning cartoon from 6:30 am to noon, without budging…

I blame computers for this phenomena- I click from site to site like a middle aged man wielding a television remote in charge of 250 or more channels. I am not even sure what I am looking for when I site hop~ only that it ends when I get tired or bored.

In an effort to help those suffering from short term attention spans, I feel I have created a two step program. These two steps include duct tape and movies.

One: pop in a dvd of a movie

Two: duct tape your self to the couch and watch

If you need help with making yourself prone to watch movies- I suggest you get assistance from another person and both of you and your duct tape wielding assistant watch A Clockwork Orange first.

If that doesn’t work- one could always watch shorter movies. To aid my readers with short attention spans- I have a 6 second video that encompasses all 10 Star Trek Movies, directed by Dan C. Rinnert. If you look closely you might notice Ricardo Montalblan as Khan in the 3rd second of the movie… ( watch it a couple times.) Dan’s movie is so cutting edge one will not even need to watch the new Star Trek movie to be released May 8th.

Enjoy and don’t forget to pop some popcorn!!!

OMG! The ending totally caught me off guard! I thought I had it worked out in the 5th second, but then that huge plot twist nailed me in the last second. Star Trek? Pfft, Dan’s way beyond that. :D
