Vintage Junk ~ Just Call Me the Fred Sanford of the Internet

Just hitchhiking around the net… join me for vintage link love!

June 27th, 2008 · 5 Comments

The weekend is upon some of us already and so instead of writing more vintage drivel, I thought I would spread some link love around to some of my favorite blog stops this week.

This week I received the Glittery Fly Award from DCR but not because I am spectacular or a “glittery fly” per se but because I commented first. From one Glittery Fly to another - Thanks Dan! Be sure to stop by Dan’s blog because he is now taking questions from readers in his new segment called Ask DCR. His first question this week came from Pete of My GPS Camera Phone who asked “why is American cheese yellow?” Check out Dan’s very informative answer and while you are at it ask Dan a question.

Speaking of Pete (he’s a 9 on a scale of 1-10 Blogger Babeness) he has been recently recruited by Joeprah and the tobacco corporations!. Pete is not only trying to get ex-smokers hooked with his subliminal picture of Joe Camel in tree bark- he is also guest blogging for Joeprah! Way to go Pete and thanks for getting me stung out on cancer sticks again… I never noticed that Joe Camel is actually a picture of male genitalia until it was posted on your blog.

Want some serious good reading this week- check out Bobby’s posts (and the commentary) on Partisan Politics and Copyright Infringement. Finish it up with a fun post on what makes the Revellian so quirky!

Link Quickies

Have a foot fetish- I do! Check out these cute toes and then leave a comment.

Not only do I love sucking on toes and cancer sticks (not really) - I love sucking on a good rasher of bacon, but when it’s not in the house, I pacify myself with reading about it here.

Thanks for the linkage! Yes, Joe Camel is quite, uh, you know. Kinda creepy. I’m so glad he’s gone because I would have jumped off a cliff for him. Joe Camel ruled my life. I loved Camel lights. But I gag at the thought now, weird.

    Thanks for the link!

    Have you tried smoking bacon?

Pete: Okay, maybe I figured it out. Maybe it’s that you have to be an ex-smoker to see the camel in the bark. For us non-smokers, we just wonder what you’ve been inhaling lately. ;-)

Wow…thanks so much Michelle! You even used great anchor text…I feel like I won the lottery!

I quit smoking a while back, but I have eaten camel toe before…hahahaha, OMG that sounds so wrong and I meant cooked ones (that sounds even worse). I’d better shut up before I say something weird

That’s some smooth linkage you’ve got going on there! I’ll visit them soon. Thanks for mine!

@ Pete - I am allergic to smoking now myself. It drives me bonkers.

@ Dan - I did try smoking bacon but I didn’t like the grease fires in my bong.

Besides didn’t Richard Pryor have a huge accident free-basing bacon?

@Bobby- I don’t know what to say to you… if you were in a bar and you said that, I would either be very very twitterpated or smack you, depending on how drunk I was. I don’t drink anymore- so guess…

@Jenny- I like how you say smooth linkage- it reminds me of smooth jazz… I had this strange urge to take a picture of my toes yesterday. So I did. I blame it on you.

BTW all my husband just quit smoking a month ago- which is cool on so many levels. Because we save money, he isn’t outside all the time or up during dinners out in the parking lot, french kissing is back on the menu, the money savings, he doesn’t smell like Oscar the Grouch anymore… I mean smoking sucks on so many levels.

Interesting to find out who used to smoke and who’s a goody too shoes. :0)
