Vintage 80’s Music at this Year’s Star Wars Dance Off
July 1, 2008 by Michelle Gartner
This little video is disturbing in so many fun ways. It features goofy eighties music and favorite Star Wars characters in a dance competition… and the winner is? Check it out for yourself and don’t blame me if your eyeballs hurt afterwards.

George Lucas lets people get away with that, but he won’t release the Christmas Special? What is up with that?
And, who said you could do vintage 80’s?
Oh - I think the Christmas Special is so much more shameful then Lord Vader doing Thriller. See this has a funny quality- there is nothing but shame to be felt for the Christmas Special.
Shame- SHAME- more shame…shame I tell you!
George Lucas is brilliant on one hand and then on the other he is an off the hook goof ball.
Darth Vader-brilliant
Star Wars- brilliant
Jar Jar Binks- stupid
Christmas Special- stupid
Hooking up with Disney for Star Wars Weekends- stupid…
Fortunately his brilliance outweighs his stupidity, even if my list does not highlight that fact.
I do blame you. That was disturbing. ;¬)
@ Jenny- I know how you like to dream… so now the subliminal seeds have been planted and tonight you will dream Vader does the Full Monty! WOWeeee!
The Holiday Special introduced Boba Fett. It is an important part of our cultural entertainment history.
Did I mention Boba Fett?
Oh my. The first two have caused mental trauma that I’ll need therapy to recover from. Seeing Darth Vader and some stormtroopers jam out to Thriller was pretty damn cool, though.
@ Dan- I don’t remember the Boba Fett part- did it really. I felt really uncomfortable watching it. The part where Bea Arthur sings in the cantina was so… um words fail me…
@ Pete- oh don’t be a baby, we already know you are mental, so the trauma couldn’t be that bad. I think there are some ladies out there who “love them some Vader now…” It was kind of sexy like watching that weird guy from Cameo dance in a big red cod piece. Oh yeah!!! Now that’s some good eighties music. I can see Darth Vader doing Word UP in a red cod piece, someone stop me now… ;0)
The Boba Fett part was a cartoon and is the only part of the Holiday Special that George Lucas recognizes.
I actually don’t remember that part either. I remember Bea Arthur in the cantina though. And the Wookies.
Ah yes the cartoon- I forgot about that. That was the good part.
