On the First Mundane Monday My True Love Gave to Me; Antique Pork N Beans

Dan of dcrblogs has proposed a new MeME called Mundane Monday and for his inaugural post he presents the Plastic Bag.
I realize it’s Tuesday- but Monday came and went with me nursing a huge nasty chest cold- but I want to play along as well. For my first Mundane Monday I give thee…
And not just any can of pork n beans- but in keeping with the vintage theme of this blog I will point out that these are vintage Van Camps beans because they have been “satisfying families since 1861.” So actually they aren’t vintage- because according to the experts anything pre 1920’s is an antique.
Therefore- I give thee antique pork n’ beans… and a quaint little anecdote. When I was a kid in daycare some thirty years ago and they served lunch at this particular day care- when they put out the Pork n Beans, the children put up quite a fuss. This was because we were all fighting for the piece of butter as we called it… which I know now know to be a nasty old piece of pork- hence the “pork” in the name pork n beans. I still laugh to this day wondering what genius convinced us all it was butter. I also prefer to eat baked beans now…
Of course putting a can of pork n beans on my sill and taking a picture might be disturbing to the art purists out there. I know that I have probably upset the notions of Jenny’s boyfriend Dave who is a Found Art purist. So I have put the can back in it’s rightful place in my cupboard amongst the green beans and taken a picture… and give you Pork n Beans as Found. It is available for $100- I take cash or paypal.
Again- I realize other Art enthusiasts will be in a tizzy- after all, I did not do anything to the former picture. That it is the case, that I just snapped a picture of pork n beans in my cupboard and called it something artistic. So for those of you will cry foul of my artistic abilities- I give thee a little something I like to call Andys Pork n Beans. This one too has been made available by the artist- call for the price.
